Rugged Terrain Trailers, formerly known as Mirsberger Manufacturing, was built out of necessity. In our retail trailer business, we kept running into the same problem: aluminum utility trailers were too cookie-cutter. Customers needed flexibility — different rail heights, loading styles, access doors, and layouts — but most manufacturers only offered mass-produced options with minimal customization. So in 2007, Nick had an “aha” moment: We can build these better ourselves. What started in a small Quonset hut quickly grew into a dedicated manufacturing operation focused on building aluminum trailers to the customer’s needs — not forcing the customer to settle for what was available. As demand grew, we expanded beyond retail to supply dealers. That allowed us to keep our skilled team working full-time while delivering a better product to more customers. Today, Rugged Terrain Trailers remains family-owned and operated — built by people who sell, use, and stand behind the trailers every day.
